ictQATAR's Regulatory Authority offers a number of licenses and services relating to the import and operation of telecommunications equipment, and optimizing scarce resources, such as radio spectrum and numbering.
Most forms are available online, but need to be submitted in person to ictQATAR, with appropriate supporting materials.
ictQATAR is working with Customs on a comprehensive Type Approval for a variety of technologies, which will allow people to know quickly what telecommunications equipment can be operated safely in the country, without the need of a formal license. Type approved telecommunications equipment can be viewed here.
