ictQATAR Launches Revamped Government Contact Center and Opens Regulatory Authority Customer Service Center


Centers Aim to Facilitate Interaction Between People & the Government

The Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR) announced, on October 28th, 2009, the launch of an expanded Government Contact Center that will help people better interact with Qatar's Government. Also, to better facilitate interaction with its own constituents, ictQATAR officially opened its Regulatory Authority Customer Service on the ground floor of its new offices at Al Nasr Tower on the Corniche.

The Government Contact Center is a 24-hour a day, 7 day a week service that will provide citizens and residents of Qatar one point of contact for all government e-service related inquires. Initially the Contact Center will only provide support for e-services available through Hukoomi, Qatar's online government portal. By the end of 2010, the Center will expand to provide service for other government ICT initiatives such as Knowledge Network, the Government Network and other government e- services.

Starting November 1, the Government Contact Center can be reached via phone at 4069999, or by fax at 4069998.

According to Walid Galal, ictQATAR's Government Contact Center Manger, the Center applies international best practices to ensure the quality and efficiency of the services provided. "We have also provided first-rate training to all of our Contact Center employees so people in Qatar can feel confident in the information they receive," he said.

The Regulatory Authority Service Center can be reached at 4995408 or 4995401.

ictQATAR is also planning on opening a service center for Hukoomi in its building. The center will provide citizens and residents in person assistance with using the many services available through Hukoomi and will also feature numerous self-help terminals.

ictQATAR 's also announced the opening of its new Regulatory Authority Service Center, which will make interactions with its constituents more efficient. People seeking telecoms licenses, spectrum information or that have general regulatory concerns will be able to come to the easily accessible Center, and no longer have to go to different floors within ictQATAR's offices.
