ictQATAR establishes National Numbering Committee


Committee to Manage the Implementation of a New Numbering Plan for Fixed and Mobile Numbers
Numbering of mobile phones New numbering plan and services including number portability are currently under development
The Supreme Council of information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR) announced on November 13, 2009 the establishment of the National Numbering Committee (NNC).

This committee aims to manage the implementation of a new numbering plan for fixed and mobile numbers in Qatar and to implement related services such as number portability. The National Numbering Committee comprises representatives from Qtel and Vodafone Qatar and is chaired by ictQATAR. The NNC is currently developing the new numbering plan and services including number portability. These services are expected to be launched during the 2010 calendar year.
