Qatar eGOV2020 Steering Committee Reviews Work Progress with Their Excellencies the Ministers
The Qatar eGovernment 2020 Steering Committee continues in March its evaluation and follow-up meetings with their excellencies the ministers to review work progress on the implementation of the Qatar e-Government 2020 Strategy.
Chaired by H.E. Minister of Information and Communications Technology Dr. Hessa Al-Jaber, the latest such meetings were held by the Committee over the past two weeks with Their Excellencies the Ministers Mr. Ali Sherif Al-Emadi of Finance, Dr. Saleh Mohamed Salem Al Nabit of Development Planning and Statistics and Mr. Abdullah bin Khalid Al Qahtani of Public Health.
Their excellencies the ministers were briefed on work progress on implementing the Qatar e-Government 2020 Strategy, the projects that have been done and others underway.
The meetings reviewed projects status, recommendations for each ministry’s projects, challenges confronted and ways to overcome them. It has been agreed to establish joint task workgroups, under the Committee’s supervision, to step up the pace of projects implementation.
Their excellencies the ministers hailed the progress made on Qatar eGOV2020 and efforts being exerted by the Committee to take success to the next levels, and placed emphasis on meeting the projects timelines. Minister of Planning and Statistics Dr. Al Nabit stressed the importance of vital projects drawn in the Strategy and means to take advantage of the online data. They also stressed importance of coordination between all government entities to translate projects into reality with best international practices.
Established by the Cabinet in September 2013, the Qatar eGOV2020 Steering Committee developed the Qatar e-Government 2020 Strategy in February 2014, which was officially released in later May 2014. #####
